The Future of CERISE

The recent CERISE redesign is a major step in fulfilling our mission to become Canada's leading provider of timely, independent information and analysis concerning energy regulation developments from jurisdictions across Canada and elsewhere. CERISE aims to be the principal forum for the energy regulatory industry in Canada.

The redesign is intended to be the first step in meeting our objectives. CERISE envisages a number of potential services to better meet the needs of our members. Examples of potential new services include:

  • an Analysis section to considerably enrich the content of the current Articles section with editorials, facts and insights, dialogue and feedback on issues of regulatory importance;
  • a Legislation section on the topic of energy-related legislation in each Canadian jurisdiction;
  • improved cross-jurisdictional search capabilities;
  • enhanced What's New Alerts to provide summaries and analysis of breaking news customized to the specific interests of members;
  • Enhanced Services related to tailored monitoring and research;
  • improved website functionality.

Editorial Board

CERISE is developing an Editorial Board made up of senior personnel from across the regulatory environment. The Chair of the Editorial Board is Rudy Riedl, former President of Enbridge Consumers Gas. Chris Sheard, President of Fairman Holt Inc., is also a member of the Board. On a periodic basis this group will be asked to discuss and comment on major issues with cross-jurisdictional implications. The discussions and comments of this group will provide direction and analyses for the enhanced Analysis section. This section will feature the differing opinions of experts who are active in regulatory matters, and stimulate discussion and feedback from members.

Sponsors/Advisory Committee

In order to fulfill our vision of the future, CERISE is planning to create an Advisory Board. This body will have the opportunity to provide significant counsel to CERISE concerning the evolution of the service.
